It's me - Rosanna Bueler

A bit about me

Hello, I'm Rosanna. I live in Montpellier, in the south of France, which is a small historical city near the sea. The region is probably best known for its wine.

The weather?
It's often sunny and it gets very hot in the summer, but luckily there is a change of seasons, and it does get quite cold in the winter. But the climate is changing. We have started to have rainy winters and extreme heat in the summer because of climate change!

Where I'm from.
I grew up in The Netherlands, in a postcard-pretty village in between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. I then moved to England to go to university and decided to work there. I ended up staying in the UK for 13 years.

Our move to France.
My (French) husband and I moved to France for a job, which was a nice way to try something new for a few years. That was the summer of 2013 and we're still here - the kids (three of them) came along soon after.

From (eco) marketing to sustainability education

My background is in marketing and events for large companies.

When I moved to France, I focused on content marketing as a contractor for international startups.

I was really keen to move into the sustainability sector, which had been close to my heart for a long time. So I set up my own project where I provided strategic communication services to eco start-ups. This allowed me to dive deep into everything related to ecology, nature, climate change and sustainability.

In the back of my mind I wanted to take the education route, so alongside I launched eco lifestyle guides, to educate kids and parents on leading a more eco lifestyle - playfully.

These fully loaded green guides have become the start of and the heart of my eco-education venture. I got to work to develop more sustainable educational services, but I needed a new brand. This is when Eco Rose was born.

Let's educate our kids on green living

It's simple - every single one of us makes an impact on our planet, we all have a footprint. Let's talk to our kids about this.

Eco Rose is all about spreading awareness to spark action.

Our kids will take the climate relay, and through education they will become much more effective at caring for Earth than us adults!

Eco-friendly habits

With awareness comes change, right? For me this started changes in my daily habits.

If you’re wondering/looking for ideas, here are some of my green actions:

I am a vegetarian (this goes back to childhood – thanks to my parents!). Not eating meat saves on an unquantifiable amount of energy/CO2, and of course, supports animal welfare.

Back in 2020, we (my family and I) introduced one vegan day a week. The environmental reasons are obvious, and this makes our kids more aware of the food-planet-climate situation.

I shop more responsibly and locally – both for things and for food. Re the former, this isn’t always easy nor successful – but that’s okay, I do what I can! Re the latter, we signed-up to a weekly anti food-waste initiative, called PimpUp.

We are a cycle family. We have 8 bikes between us, we cycle whenever we can.

Sustainable living is very much work in progress!
